Reebok - EasyTone Review

I was looking into a new pair of sneakers and decided to look into the Reebok EasyTones. (http://www.reebok.com/CA/home)
This shoe is tailor-made for walking, with a slanted heel to propel your foot forward. Combine that with the latest technologies for comfort and muscle-toning benefits.
Get a better butt and better legs with every step. With EasyTone Rush, you can get firmer thanks to our patented sole technology, which emulates walking on sand.
  • EasyTone technology improves muscle tone in the hamstrings, calves and glutes up to 28%
  • Synthetic/open-weave mesh upper, with its walking-inspired design, for the ultimate lightweight breathability and style
  • Specially designed Women’s Specific Last technology ensures a better fit for women’s feet and SmoothFit seamless design ensures minimal rub, decreases irritation; removable antibacterial sockliner accommodates orthotics
  • EasyTone uses balance pods in the shoes to create natural instability, much like walking on a sandy beach, which encourage toning through increased muscle activation in 3 key areas of the leg
  • SmoothFit technology hides all seams for an irritation-free fit
  • Open-weave mesh provides breathable support, removable liner adds cushioning and accommodates orthotics, slanted heel enhances your walking stride
  • Synthetic and textile upper/textile lining/synthetic sole

  • With SMOOTHFIT®, all seams are either eliminated or hidden inside and outside the upper. The goal is to create a fit with zero potential for irritation.
Since I work out at least four times a week I wasn't purchasing these shoes with the hopes of getting a workout without actually having to go actually work out.  I did buy them because the second I put them on my feet, I didn't want to take them off.  I LOVE my flip flops and Uggs andwould wear them all the time if I didn't have to wear dress shoes to work.  However, I find myself preferring to lace these up rather than slipping on my flip flops!  These sneakers are extremely comfortable, the pods actually make it feel like you are being propelled forward...you get a nice little "spring" in your step!
Now, as far as their claim that you get firmer while walking...when doing my daily errands, I didn't notice that my legs were being worked, I thought it was just another marketing ploy.  My opinion did change when I wore them on a day trip to NYC.  The next morning, my calves and hamstrings felt like I had gone on either a long hike or a run the day before!  I was extremely impressed!  Recently I have had a couple of friends who purchased these who don't work out as frequently as I do.  They did notice their leg muscles had been worked after just wearing them around for errands.
I have to say that these sneakers are worth it whether you are looking for a sneaker to help you tone while just walking or just looking for an extremely comfortable sneaker!

Here is a link to the sneakers on Amazon, they aren't the exact sneaker but I'm sure the quality and comfort is the same:

They also make these in a flip flop (which I am thinking about getting, I will post a review if I do get them):
