Setting the fountain up was extremely easy, it took less than 5 minutes. At first, both cats kept a bit of a distance, but at the same time couldn’t take their eyes off it for at least 20 minutes. Finally, our adventurous female cat walked up to it and took her first drink. Naturally, the male cat was jealous and joined. We originally contemplated leaving their old traditional water bowl out, but since both were drinking out of it we decided to get rid of it immediately.

The fountain itself is nice, I especially like that the motor is quiet and you have the ability to adjust the flow of the water. Another positive side to the fountain, the sound of water falling is soothing to us also. Guests have even remarked how quiet the motor is, a few friend have since purchased this for their cats…one even purchased it for their small dog! Cleaning the fountain is a little time consuming, about 10-15 minutes and we clean it once a week. However, I feel that keeping everything clean is good for the cats and will prevent any build up in the motor.
